Removing middle leaf?

Quick question, my 95 Jimmy is at stock height. I am wanting to lower that back 2-3 inches, if I remove the middle leaf spring without getting blocks, how much will it lower my truck? Thanks for any info.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

That's the wrong leaf, remove 3rd from the top counting the one with the eyes. It should drop you about 1.75" but your better off buying a 2wd.

cause my 22s are out to far, they are 6 lug so they have 3 inch adapters behind them, I had to trim to make them fit at stock height, if I lower it I will have to cut up the fender which I dont want to do, im mainly just wanting to make the back the same height as the front.

If you pull a leaf it will probably sit 3/4" lower in the rear than the front. Just get 1" drop blocks.

whats with the look, they are custom made 2 piece adapters that turn my 5 lug pattern into 6 lug. and the trimming i did was the inner wheel well, you cant tell I even trimmed it.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

Yeah....if they don't fit you must acquit! If they stick out too far they're what they used to call steam rollers. If they're bigger than your door and you sit stock height or higher you have a donk

actually they dont stick out, they're perfectly in line with the fender. The correct definition of a donk is a 71-76 impala or caprice only. Not to mention I got these rims at a steal, my friend originally paid $6500 for them and I got them for $1200. So....it was worth a little trimming a little on the inner fender

uh huh...... Sorry to inform you, but Donks aren't just Impala's/caprices anymore. Are all dropped trucks only 94+ S10's? Don't think so... It's a style, ugly as hell given, but it's still a style and no style is limited to a certain vehicle.

You already said that you'd have to cut the fender off to lower it and the 22's stick out too far. If those aren't high end billet rims your friend is an idiot for paying that much. My friend gave a little over 3k for a set of 22" boyd coddingtons

actually the style is called high risers. if you wanna argue about it goto king of the street forum (guys who build those cars) and they'll tell you the same thing. Second, they are Oasis spinners, yes he payed a little more than he should have because he ordered them from the factory because no one sold them in his lug pattern...see for yourself....http://superbuytires.com/Oasis/CrisS...ze=265%2F35R22

and finally, last I checked it was my truck not yours, if I built it to satisfy you that would make me pretty homosexual. Thank you for the info and I respect your opinion but don't call my friend an idiot, real spinners arn't cheap.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

I love people that say this shit to me
Built this last year from the frame up:

Built this about 3 years ago from a stock truck:

I do all the work myself except for paint. Just because I'm going to school now and not throwing all my money at my Blazer doesn't mean I don't know anything pal.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

Yeah you can do whatever you want with your truck. If you like it then that's fine. Still doesn't mean I'm not going to say I don't like it.

If you want to "slam" it nevertheless you'll need different wheels.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

I sued to do like you bro, go around explaining what a donk is, but on here a donk is anything on over-sized wheels. Sooooooo i gave up, I still love donks tho

Re: Removing middle leaf?

naw if it's dropped low or bagged with big wheels then it's not a donk. There's a big difference in laying frame on 22's and sitting stock height on 22's. It's all about proportion. Here's my friends truck on 22's, doesn't look like a donk to me, but it would sort of if it were sitting stock height.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

I can't find anymore, I did had some, but my computers hard drive crashed last week and I lost a bunch of crap. We went up to suicidedoors and I told him what to get, it's got a very nice setup. I believe he dropped around 3,500-4,000 in the air ride before installation. KP 6 link, ART arms, slam specialties bags, airlift 1/2" valves, 1/2" line, 15ga. of air, EDC, tubbed firewall, cutom inner fenders like the ones I built on the green truck, etc...

I was going to put it on for him, but I was born with a lung disease and got pretty sick last year when he wanted it all done.

Yes I consider lifted trucks on huge wheels and rubber bands donks, but lifted trucks on big wheels (but not huge) and thick mud tires are cool. I seen a 3/4 ton 4wd sitting stock the other day, it had 22's and mud tires, but the side wall was like 4" tall, looked kinda weird with that tread design and such a slim sidewall of a 4wd.

Re: Removing middle leaf?

To answer the original question, you pull the second to the last leaf on the bottom.

For some reason, the wheels in the avatar look way bigger than 22's.
