Rear Hatch Won't Open..
I have a 96 Jimmy and yesterday I went to open my rear window.. pushed in the rear key button and all it did was make a noise which sounded like it was trying to open but wouldn't do the last click that unlocked it.. went inside and pushed my rear hatch unlock/open button by my light switch and it made the same noise.. I gotta fix this cheap and fast as I am going to be trading it in and I don't want them to deduct money from the trade because of this.. Please help

Thanks for the link.. would have helped but I just did all that and it's not the actuator. Well it could be I dunno.. haha all I know is there is a small plastic piece that is broken.. looks about impossble to replace so since I'm trading it in I think I'm gonna try to just JB weld the dang thing so it works for the time being.. If anyone else has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

The small plastic piece that is part of the actuator? I had the same problem. The new actuator comes with a new plastic piece. |

The plastic piece is what broke on mine as well. It is part of the $50 actuator. I drilled/screwed on a little piece of metal on to it and looped a small chain to the part it pulls to pop the latch. It works perfetly now.

I replaced mine, I ordered the actuator from GMPartsDirect.com, part #15994853, ~$30. It was an easy replacement.
