I have an 02 Blazer Xtreme, 2 door. I've had a problem with rattling of panels and other noises since the day I got my Kenwoods in. Recently I took apart the interior panels and doors and put weatherstripping along the edges that met with anything that would cause rattling (Side top panels, bottoms of the doors, back hatch panel, jacket panel).
Doing the panel on the back hatch did the most good, but I'm still getting weird squeaking noises from time to time. They don't seem to get worse as the bass gets more intense but they do seem to get worse when I'm going over bad and bumpy roads. It almost seems as if its coming from the area around the back vent windows, and seat belts. Also I've notice that the back hatch STILL rattles pretty bad. I think its the mechanism the releases the hatch. Has anyone else had similar problems? What have you done about them? I'm looking for preferably a cheap fix to this, becuase I'm assuming DinoMat would fix it but thats like $100 a sheet or whatever. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Rattling and Noises
Check the compartment doors at the rear seat bottoms and the panel where it meets the rear vent window. I put thin strips of rubber behind mine and believe it of not, my '00 Jimmy does not rattle at all. My parents "X" is a different story though. I need to get it at the house and give it the once over. You can also get small velcro strips or dots, clean the areas with alcohol and apply them.

Re: Rattling and Noises
I only had the rear glass squeek, and after spraying some WD-40 on the latch, the squeek has stopped.

Re: Rattling and Noises
take the tailgate trim panel off and loosen the 10mm nut on the latch. push the latch in as far as possible, tighten down the nut. This pulls the glass tight agianest the weatherstrip and stops that annoying squeek.
