Question on a Tail Light Instalation 2001 S10 Blazer

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this Atzella Tail Light assembly for a 2001 S10 Blazer? It's got to be missing a harness or an adapter of some kind.
Or did they just give me the wrong Tail Light? It fits perfectly, but the stock lighting assembly doesn't fit. Sucks too, because I like the look of these lights. Any help would be apprieciated.

Well, I just put Altezzas on mine a couple of weeks ago. Looking at the pix, I can see that there are two bulb connections in the top lens. I'm thinking you need to put two red bulbs in there for your turn signal/brakes/parking lights, then use the white bulb in the bottom lens for your backup lights.

Or you could get creative and put ONE red bulb in the top lens, with the white backup bulb ALSO in the top lens, and then put the other red bulb in the bottom lens. It should work, unless you're saying the holes themselves aren't the right size for the bulbs. Try it and then post back.

Can you peel the sticker off the hole and take a pic? Usually, the bulbs will spin into the aftermarket assemblies...

The two top ones are for your brake light/turn signals.(red bulbs)
The bottom one is for the reverse light.(clear bulb)

Re: Question on a Tail Light Instalation 2001 S10 Blazer

OK. sorry for the delay in repling. I've been out of town for awhile.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I did follow your tips.
So the problem I was having and the reason I started the post, was that for some reason, the holes were too small, but only by a 16th of an inch. Not sure why, so I took a Dremil tool and opened them up just enough to get the bulbs through.
After thoroughly cleaning the lens with an air hose, I took the advice on separating the signal/brake lights and putting the reverse light in the top space. I think it looks alot better that way and hopefully they will not melt!
I think they look really good but I'm still a little discouraged because they just don't quite flush up to the body like the factory lens do. I shortend and trimmed the bolt that holds them in and still no difference. I showed the gap in the picture below. Oh well.
I've never had such trouble before with aftermarket lights. I want to change my Headlights with some black Projector lights, but the trouble I went through with the tail lights concerns me.
But, maybe it is just these particular lights.
I still like them better than the original lights.
What do you think?

Re: Question on a Tail Light Instalation 2001 S10 Blazer

I bought those over the summer. I had some problems with them as well but I really enjoy mine now. First of all, I switched the bulb placement around. I put the two red bulbs at the very top and very bottom and the reverse bulb in the middle. I like that arrangement better because it gives full illumination to the tail lights instead of only half. Also, I switched my brake lights to LED's which required a new special LED turn signal flasher that you just replace with the old one under the glove compartment. When screwing all of the bulbs in I noticed that they didn't fully fit (I think this was just because I switched them around) but if you play around with them, they should fit in fine. I put these in when I was in Chicago for the summer. It rained a lot that night and the next morning half of my tail light was filled with water, and all fogged up! I think that was just because it was a really bad storm though. I have since moved to Arizona for school where it barely rains so I don't have that problem anymore.
I also was not happy with how ricey they looked so I added some spray tint to them. This toned them down and now I really like them. They match my new headlights as well. I will get some pictures tomorrow and add them to this post.

You know how hard it was to find the red bulbs? I drove around town hitting every parts store looking for them. I finally found them at Pep Boys.
Where did you get your LED lights and LED flasher?
I did notice them when I was looking around, but I didn't see any that would fit (3057).
I did set them up like you did with the reverse light in the middle. They do make more sense that way.
Did you have any problems with your head lights and running lights?
Those are like the ones I'm looking for, they look good.

Here are pictures of my tail lights:

I got my LED bulbs on ebay. The turn signal flasher I also got on ebay. Make sure it says LED on the flasher or else it will not work. Did you put the LED's in your tail lights? If so, you should have that rapid firing whenever you signal because of the lower LED current, your signal flasher thinks a bulb is out... thats why it needs to be replaced.
My headlights/running lights are great. I had problems with them, that was because I did a HID retrofit... which took forever lol. But yeah other than that they are pretty good I suppose. The bottom running lights don't fit in completely, the sides don't snap in but they look fine regardless... Also, the blazer headlights in general are a little screwy to put in place so it's even harder with aftermarket lights. But overall I really like them.
