Picking up a 1996 Jimmy
Can anyone tell me if I can make the later model 4wd switch (the one that has auto4wd) work in place of the cheesy looking round buttons they used on the 1996 models? I understand the auto feature won't work, but I like the looks of the newer buttons?

With a little wiring help, it might work. I have some scanned 96 factory info on 4X4's if you need it.

Won't fit in the dash. On the other hand, if you could make it fit (trimmed a bit here and there or whatever), there were 4wd Ss without auto 4wd. Same switch but with 3 buttons instead of 4. Just another option.
