Re: Passenger Door Weather stripping ??

Door Hinge pins and bushings. It's letting the door drop slightly and not letting it seal tight when it's shut. Put new ones in and it will pull the door tight to your seals. Took me about 30 minutes per door with a few minutes of my wife helping me on each door to get the pins back in. Advanced Auto has new ones in the HELP section. Common problem with the Blazers/Jimmy's.

Re: Passenger Door Weather stripping ??

The weather stripping is easy to change out. We swapped out the drivers side front and back doors in less than 10 mins. The top part is seperate from the opening around the door..make sure you get that piece also..it actually has some sticky tape on it..the big O part around the inside of the door just fits into a track. We got our at LMC truck. Plan on doing the passenger side and back this spring.

Re: Passenger Door Weather stripping ??

What do you do if the holes in the bracket for the pin have worn out of shape and are now oblong (oval or egg-shaped)??

Re: Passenger Door Weather stripping ??

2 choices, 1 either put the oversize bushing kit in, or buy the replacement hinges, then you will have to drill the welds out of the old ones, and separate the body panels to put the new ones in.

Re: Passenger Door Weather stripping ??

How big is the oversized bushing? Does it use the original sized pins?
