How many are there, and where are they located?

Re: oxygen sensors

you should have 3, 1 on each side of the y-pipe, and 1 after the catalytic converter

Re: oxygen sensors

I have had my 96 Jimmy 3 years and have had a host of problems with check engine lights. Mine has 4 oxygen sensors and I've replaced 3. (before 140,000 mileage) I have also had a problem with dash lights and AM radio poor reception. Replaced the alternator yesterday and seems that was the root of all probs. Mechanic told me I had a bad diode causing power surges which can cause all these problems. FYI
