overhead console?

Are the overhead consoles, the ones that are about 3 feet loong, flat along the edge of the roof? I was thinking of putting on in my mom's 84 extended cab. The ones in the first gen Blazers have a dip in them in the back because of an extra roof brace.

i believe it is flat all the way across top and dips down as it gets closer to the window

I don't know what laynlo has but I am wanting to put this in a truck. The first gen blazers have a big roof brace at the back of the console and I took one out at the junk yard and held it up to the roof of an extended cab and it fit in the middle just not the opened end. And laynlo might not be picky like me and not even care about a dip that show!

Re: overhead console?

It dips maybe about an inch in the middle. I guess you could prolly build up the dip with glass?

Re: overhead console?

you dont need to worry...where the dip is...is also where the screw holes are to mount the rear of the console. So just stick a piece of metal wood anything you want to secure it to under the headliner....and when you tighten down the screws it pulls the headliner down into the dip. Worked great on mine. There is maybe a 1/16" gap at the very edge of the dip is all I have remaining.
