Odd A/C issues
Hey all,
This is my first post, glad to be here. I've got an '04 S10 Blazer and the A/C has a wierd quirk. The A/C won't cool unless I first rev the engine to 4000. I usually here a thump before it kicks on. Anybody know how I can fix it? Thanks, MCab |

Re: Odd A/C issues
The thump you hear should be the a/c compressor clutch. Open the hood and watch it to see if it's cycling on/off. Sounds like you just might be low on refrigerant. Buy the tall can that has the little gauge and hose attached to it. It will also have oil and additives mixed in with it. Do NOT overcharge the system. You connect the hose to the low pressure side. It will be on the left, facing the engine, next to your overflow tank.

Re: Odd A/C issues
FYI, the hose will ONLY fit the low side, since the fittings are different sizes, so, don't be intimidated
