NO Reverse, NO 2nd gear!!! HELP
alright, I have a 2001 Blazer, 4.3l, 4L60E trans, 4WD.... I hooked up my tech 2 and have no codes... looked at the data while driving... when you drive, the tech 2 shows current gear as 1st, then shows current gear as 2nd, but vehicle does not shift... it revs to 4k then shifts into 3rd... 4th engages as normal... also I have no reverse. the PRNDL switch operates just fine... the shift time for the shifts are as follows:
1-2 0.00 sec 2-3 0.20 sec 3-4 0.20 sec what are the thoughts!!! need help, please post soon. |

i had similar issues...
ended up being my torque convertor solenoid... luckily it was still under warranty... |

Yeah the sun gear is KNOWN to fail in these trans...that is what cause the no Rev and no 2nd

that's what mine did, when sun gear goes out, no 2nd 4th and reverse.

Yeah the sun shell gear is a cheapo made $35 part that causes a total rebuild most of the time when it strips.
