Newb Q
I just joined the forum....Howdy everyone
On to the question.... I have a 95 s10 blazer 4.3 vortech "W" The blazer starts perfectly fine, but when I step on the gas,or going up hill the blazer shakes, and makes a stutter sound, and sometimes while in gear at idle it shakes. But it doesnt shake while in park at idle though. So i replaced the fuel pressure regulator, spark plugs, wires, cleaned out the egr valve, and all the other junk in the Intake manifold while i was replacing the fuel pressure regulator. And for about 5 miles everything seemed fixed, but slowly over the next few days the problems came back. Also i checked the fuel pressure at it holds around 55-60 psi.Im stumped at this point, and dont want to start replacing everything.Does anyone know what it could be?Im not getting any CEL.If it was the egr, would it pull a CEL?Any advice,or things to rule out,or things to consider being the problem? Thanks |

Re: Newb Q
i talked to my friend and he told me that it was his egr valve... he took it apart then cleaned it out only to find a build up of pepple sized carbon chunks after that his car ran fine hope that helps you out a little if i find anything eles out ill keep you informed

Re: Newb Q
Thats very odd,I was going to replace the egr but a mechanic buddy told me i would get a CEL code if the egr was bad,but maybe i can find one cheap and try it out.Thanks...I'll let ya know how it goes.

Re: Newb Q
Update: I took the blazer to another mechanic and he tested everything. He doesnt think it is the egr or the spider unit. The only thing he noticed is my driver side engine mount has two cracks going through it.So i know i should get that replaced, but im not so sure that is what is causing this shaking and loss of power. But when he reved the engine that thing really moves. It was putting a indent under the hood.I can see how it might cause the car to shake when going up hill and putting load on it,but i cant see how it would do the same thing at a stop just idleing.Anyone got an opinion about this?

Re: Newb Q
i would think it shoulp pull a trouble code, i would get a nanod light kit(something likt that) and check the injectors and also do a compression check, the egr would be rough at idle not as much when driving, pm if you have any more qs
