need washer hose routing info
Well, I'm slowly getting a 2001 Jimmy back on the road that I picked up cheap. Found out today that the washer hose going back to the rear hatch is leaking and through a siphon effect it empties every bit of fluid I put in the washer reservoir.
I found where I think the leak is coming from. The fluid is dripping from the left rear just above where the evap canister is. If I pull out all the tools and tool panel I can see the line going down, but I don't know how to get to the hose. Does anyone have a simple way to get to the hose or do you know if it can be pulled through from somewhere else so I can patch and get this working again? Should be a simple fix, but it appears this rubbed somewhere I can't get to. |

Duh, it's a 4dr. I can reach the hose going down behind/next to the rear taillight assembly, but I lose it as it heads down lower. I'm beginning to think I'll need to remove the panels no matter what.

Re: need washer hose routing info
you will have to remove the lower panels and the carpet. I know on my 2dr it was in a plastic tray and went under the carpet and into the tailgate. I had to remove all 4 seats and both carpets to get rid of it.

Re: need washer hose routing info
Considering the date on your posting, you most likely already figured this out...
Anyway, UNDER the pad - of the carpet - of the back bed, you will find a crappy little plastic nipple connector similar to the 1/4" ones used for underground sprinkler accessories. This flows into to a an 's' connector (also cheap plastic) via a rubber hose sleeve, that runs UNDER the rear sill cover just in front of the fold-down tailgate. Remove the rear sill cover - most likey you will find the 's' disconnected, and the hose from up front siphioning into the channel (it runs out the drip hole on either end). I added a 'mini' hose clamp to mine, since it seems to be another GM 'oops' in Blazers... Good Luck - DJG ![]() |

Re: need washer hose routing info
Yea, figured it out maybe 2 months ago now. I found a 90* connector popped loose. What got me was how tight everything was and even though I popped the connector back together, it was a really tight fit and I'm sure it will pop out again sometime this winter when it's like 5* outside.
