Need help i have pics

A friend of mine gave me some drilled and slotted rotors for a blazer and before i go and buy a blazer i would like some input on which years these go on and what specs of a blazer/jimmy i need. i appreciate all of your guys help.

I just need to know which picture are the rear brakes and the front brakes and what years of the blazers they go with.

Re: Need help i have pics

so someone gives you brakes and you go buy a truck to fit them? i wouldnt use the fact that you have some rotors as a deciding factor in getting a vehicle.

looks like a 2wd with disc in the rear, mine is an auto and has drums in the back, so i bet its for a 5 speed w/posi.

just bring them with you and take 2 wheels off, it will take ten mins. plus it doesnt hurt to check those things when buying a vehicle, but who does that anyways.

go to an autoparts store and ask to see if they can line what they have up with yours.

Re: Need help i have pics

I cant see the pics, but, they could be for a 4wd....thicker ones with the vents would be front...thin solid ones would be rear (though the pics are blocked at work)

but anyways they are some nice rotors they feel durable and not cheap. i was surprised my friend just gave them to me.

The rear disks sure aren't from a 4wd, at least not an 01 model. They are quite a bit smaller than my 4wd ones.

Re: Need help i have pics

Well I'm sure that they will not fit a '98+. The '98s have sealed hubs with non replaceable bearings. Those fronts have the old replaceable tapered roller bearing races, so they are somewhere pre-'98. So it would fit the years that they added discs to the rears but b4 they went to sealed front hubs.

Re: Need help i have pics

i dont think they are pre-98 as my 02 s10 has clean and repack front wheel bearings as a 35k or 50k service.

Is it 4 wd? I know that my '98 Blazer's are sealed because I had to pay for a whole new hub when the brg. failed. Maybe they're sealed on a Blazer and open on S-10?

yes, your s10. 98+ 2wd blazers have a different front hub assembly with sealed bearings and better brake calipers.

Re: Need help i have pics

the fronts are for a 82-04 s10, and 83ish-97 blazers. the rears are for rear wheel disc brakes, not sure 2wd or 4wd. my 2wd rear has ported rear rotors

Yeah, travis, that drum is the same on both 4wd and 2wd, so I don't see why it would make a difference either.

Re: Need help i have pics

umm yesss... the blazers, starting a certain year- maybe '98. have 4 wheel disc brakes. the ebrake on these trucks operates like a drum brake.
