Need help/hatch release failure

Hello fellow s10/s15 owners!

I have a 99 gmc s15 4dr, my hatch release is not working at. I have replace dash switch and rear hatch actuator. But all on it's own it will open, and sometimes when I open the doors. But mostly all on it's own it pops open and sets off my alarm. Also I have check fuses and rear hatch wiring. I have a Viper alarm system which does not call for bypass switch, because there is no chip in the key. So what could be the problem?

Re: Need help/hatch release failure

So the actuator is popping it open?

Maybe when you opened the tailgate panel to switch the actuator, you messed up the locking mechanism.
