need help badly.. no heat and the cold is here..

ok i have a problem that a few people have had now .. but mine is a little diff. my heater dont blow hot air and so far i have checked thermistat, flushed heater core, changed actuator for the blendoor. and still no heat.. all seems to be working fine as far as it switches from feet to face to defrost and my AC works fine just no heat.. and no water uner the dash and no foggy window when i turn on the defrost.. what makes the heat come out ? could it be the blend door its self..

check and make sure all the vacumn lines are connected, check behind the glovebox as you turn on the heat

I'd replace the thermostat if you haven't already done that...

have you felt both of your lines going to your heater core ?? once the truck is hot. if both lines are hot your good but if one is hot and the other is cold you could have a clogged heater core

x3.... if that is the case, the blend door may not be moving, possibly due to a bad climate control head.... if the blend door actuator was replaced, check to see if it moves when you switch it from cold to hot

You should hear a difference in the sound of hte air as the door is moving.

I have a very similar problem but mine blows some hot air for about 30 sec. then it goes back to cold. the engine temp goes up and then goes right back down as soon as cold air come out. I am running out to check some of the suggestions above.

Re: need help badly.. no heat and the cold is here..

it sits right on top and of the blend door and opens and closes it.. once i took the dash off i was able to see that this motor was not tunrning the door.. so $150 later for part and wala.. i have heat now..

so things i did.

1. replace thermistate
2. check heater core "if clogged or water on floor or turn on defrost see if windows fog" did a flush.
3. make sure the actual switch for temp was working "pick up a climate controll box at recking yard"
4. take off dash and see what was not moving.. found out that actuators are good.
5. with dash off switch air to defrost and back to face and feet." look to see what is moving or not. "all was working..
6. switched the heat knob from cold to hot. "seen nothing move." disconected temp controll motor to move blend door with my hand and feld heat so knew it was the motor.. so switched it and Wala. i now have heat.
