ned some help guys...interior swap 98-2000

ive got a 2000 blazer 4wd wantedd black interrios so i bought a 98 with black and swapped it...just got MY 2000 interrior in the 98...few problems...

the diagnostic port doesnt work,
gauge transmission range and trip doesnt light up inless you pull the fuse for the gauges...so something is conflicting,
also the interrior lights stay on when the doors are closed,
and power locks dont work

any insight guys? these were interchangable correct? the car does drive ect

put the 2000 together today and it does the same thing...

gauge cluster problems the trip and the PRND321 doesnt light up, it lights when the key is in the first position foroward but with the key in the on position it goes off until you pull the gauge cluster fuse..and the interrior lights are on all the time

swapped clusters (kept them witht their original dash) and they work fine...weird i thought a 98 and 2000 were intercahngable

That is pretty weird. They were both the same clusters? Both with or without tach?

Don't know how to help though, ive never pulled a dash to know what its like behind it with wiring.

98 gauge clusters only work on 98's
99 gauge clusters only work on 99's
00+ work on 00+

It has to do with the wiring

unless i lucked out i put an 02 cluster outa a jimmy with a tach into my oo blazer with out tach and it works beautifuly, just throwing in my 2 cents lol
