My 2000 Trailblazer (Pictures)

Here are some pictures I took today of my Trailblazer. I just finished putting over $1800 in it doing some updating. Some of that includes a PCM tune (great results), new roof rack, running boards, spoiler, front bumper, dual exhaust + tips and mirrors. The tail lights and HID's were done about a year and a half ago. I hope you enjoy.

Re: My 2000 Trailblazer (Pictures)

Very clean! I love the roof rack...very Escalade looking!

Only thing I would change would be change the signals to some other blak signals (maybe like these: http://cgi.ebay.ca/98-04-CHEVY-S10-PICKUP-BLACK-HALO-HEADLIGHTS-LED-SIGNAL_W0QQitemZ310117379529QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMot ors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item310117379 529&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1215%7C66% 3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 )

And second, im feeling the contrast in the SS bumper fog opening, but, since you donta have grey anywhere else, it looks kinda outta place. Maybe a darker grey or gunmetal or even black since your doing the smoked out look with the headlights and tails.

I'm not a fan of those darker parking lights, it was one of the options when I was buying my lights and I never did like them.

Actually, the edges of my mirrors are silver. It really does compliment the intake openings (not fogs) very well in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback though!

I was trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with your mirrors in the distant pics. It looks goofy like that. Is that a Bravada roof rack? I never noticed they had different racks until I saw one just after I got my Jimmy. Not sold on the head or taillights either.

Goofy? I think it looks pretty sporty. It is a 1998-2000 Denali/Escalade roof rack. You'd be sold on the headlights at night, that's for sure

I agree, I thought the mirrors were turn signals at 1st. I've never cared for the black lights either, chrome looks way better imo.

I've got one question, what did you do that cost $1800?

Exhaust $250, Running boards my dad paid for didn't include that in total, Roof Rack $150, Spoiler/window $230, Mirrors $50, PCM $95, Bumper $299, getting all that painted $515, installation of everything (I'm at college, can't really do anything myself) $264 (about four hours).

Shit adds up brother.

Hell I've got about $3500 in my whole Blazer including buying it. It doesn't cost that much if you know what you're doing and do stuff yourself. I built a show truck while I was in college, I made time so that's not an excuse.

I wouldn't take anything else to that body shop either if I was you.

I'm at college, I have zero resources to do any kind of work on my car myself. I took my stuff to Maaco to get painted because I could never make it look as good as they do. And at under $70/hr for labor, that is pretty good. A Chevrolet dealor charges $98/hr...

That's why you take it to a real body shop. Around here it's $55 a hour for body work and $35 hr for paint, and that's a good shop.

Thanks. I was thinking about possibly lifting it like 2" just in the back. I feel it stands too flat. How much does that cost? I already have decently large tires. I want to keep it somewhat sporty and street looking, not off road looking.

My way? Shit, I've got the best blocks you can buy, I'm so glad you know which way I lowered my Blazer. www.jagsthatrun.com

I see you said you wanted to lift yours, I thought I read somewhere that you wanted to drop the rear. I believe you'll need a flip kit which will cost a lot more than $20 if you don't want to fab it up. I've never lifted a S-10 though.

The roofracks just bolt up? Can use your original crossbars with it? I like the way it looks, but I still need to be able to use it. I would take the bug deflector off

Re: My 2000 Trailblazer (Pictures)

it's not bad but i definitely would've gone a different route with that truck.

i would've....
candied rear tails like wicked mayhem did
clear h/l and turns
chrome front bumper
lifted
....and gotten rid of that bugshield. i can't stand those things.

No. These are from a Denali/Escalade. Much wider vehicle, the cross bars do not fit. I didn't want them anyways. I had to adhear the roof rack with a strong sealant.

I think the front profile looks too weak without the added definition of the bug deflector. I like it.

2" rear lift can be done with lift shackles. Run about $60 or so on ebay and most offroad places.

There is still a gold pin stripe, and gold lettering... Without the gold wheels, those would look a bit out of place, and I'm not about to change all of that.

if anything i would lift the front up about 1 inch... if you look at the pic from the back it doesnt sit level at all.. none of them do.. jimmy, envoy, blazer, you get my point.. these arent muscle cars they cant pull the racked look off when there that high off the ground.. you can crank your torsion keys a bit to level it out but dont crank them al the way cause then oyur lookin to replace the ball joints every 6 months.. you can get away with lifting it abou 1.5 inches this way before you run into problems.. i lifted mine 4 inches for 450 bucks.. so much better but i need ball joints and all already so i told the wife it was cheaper then all that oem junk.. so it was justifiable

S10 TB's look good stock.Other things on it make it look kinda gaudy IMO,kinda like the Jimmy Diamond editions.
Yours looks good, like the Envoy 3rd light ,but Im not a roof rack guy,I shave em! But,I HATE those TB SS bumpers on an S10,they look bulky and out of place, like a 2nd gen bed on a first gen!
I would notice your TB while driving down the street, but Im an S-Series guy so.......
P.S.
Get some Brazilian tails, that would look 10X better.

The pictures do no justice because the driveway is completely sloped. Also, lifting the front up would be pretty backwards IMHO. And I disagree, they sit too level. Most SUV's today slope downwards in the front. Thank you for the input, also.

It really was not that big of an expense considering I am doing it to hold onto the vehicle for another several years.

Thanks man. Seriously, half of the guys have the most garbage SUV's I have seen and they get these supportive compliments left and right. Here I am with a pretty sporty and luxurious blazer that I have really done a lot with and people are putting magnifying glasses on their screens telling me the bumper is an inch off and my headlights are the wrong color etc... I can take opinions but this was definitely a lot more negativity than I would have imagined. Compliment what I have done, don't point out everything that is wrong with it. Obviously my car is not going to be perfect, I have to work with the now nine year old vehicle that it is. If that wasn't the case I would just go buying a Range Rover. I really don't understand but whatever, people will always hate, so **** them, you're right.

I got my bumper at http://www.automotiveconcepts.net/st...medium=organic

It was the cheapest one, I did a lot of searching. You have to have it professionally painted to match.

Nah,if you learn a little you can do it yourself,I did.
We dont hate, just dont post up the pics and ask for epinions if you didnt really want them. The car hobby is full of diffrent people with alot of diffrent likes and dislikes. The TB is just a segment of that part of the car culture.Im sure you dont like my trucks because they are not TB's,but hey w/e they are mine,if I cared what others thought I would post it up for epinions, but I dont care, its my truck, and I like it.You should feel the same,as long as you can walk out too your truck and feel good about it,AWESOME!
Now get busy working on it somemore!

Re: My 2000 Trailblazer (Pictures)

Do you have any new pics of your truck?

No, there are just fake lenses in place of where the fogs would go. But, it would probably be pretty easy to just cut a hole and fit the lights in there. I retrofitted entire projectors in these lights which involved a lot of cutting etc. I actually didn't mind losing my fogs for two reasons. 1. They looked bad in contrast with the HID's that I put in mainly because of reason 2. I do not like the placement of the fogs, right in with the rest of the lights, where as 99% of cars have them way down below.
