Mufflers

My Jimmy needs a new muffler this summer.
A single Magnaflow may be nice. I noticed the pipe goes down from 3" to 2.5" or 2". I can't remember if the down size is infront or behind the catalyst converter. I may go 3" all the way out.

What do you have on your door vehicle? Anyone have a suggestion?

A new highflow muffler is my final step to pick a little more MPG. The Jimmy already has a nice throaty sound at idle and off idle.

Re: Mufflers

Yea, I had a single 40 on my full size 83. It was annoying on the road at 70 MPH. The 83 now has dual Magnaflows, x-pipe and no cats. Dump right behind the axel. The sound is very pleasing. At highway speeds, I can turn up the radio and drown out the sound. Not a lot volumn either. I'm leaning toward one Magnaflow and a high flow cat.

I can't remember if my Jimmy has 2 or 4 O2 sensors.

Re: Mufflers

I had a super 40 3" in and out and it was too loud for me.

I changed over to a magnaflow with single 2.75 in and out and I love it.
