Mixing Oil

So, I was driving my moms Bravada the today and noticed going up hills the oil PSI will drop to 20 from 40, and stopping brings it close to zero. So I kind of figure the oil may be a bit low (I can't check now as the hood release is rusted), now I have no idea what brand of oil was put in last time, I doubt synthetic. I have some vavoline 5w-30 laying about, would there be any problems if I topped it off, its most likely going to the shop in a few days for a multitude of other issues and I told her to get the oil changed.

Re: Mixing Oil

Mixing oil is better than being so low that you notice pressure drops.
