Max Tire Size

Hi there,

New to the forum and undoubtedly this Q has come up previously.

I have a 1999 Jimmy (recently acquired) and want to know what tire size I can run STOCK. I have a beautiful set of 30 x 9.5s from my totalled Jeep and would like to know if they would work w/out rubbing etc.

I'm not opposed to performing a slight body or susp. lift, as I had done w/my xj jeep. I might entertain 31", but think that if I could use the 30s, I'd be happy. Jimmy currently has 245/70/15s.

I'm happy w/the vehicle but have always have reservations as to ground clearance and looks when stock.

Thanks for all feedback, but please - I'm looking for definite information here, not 'should be okay', 'might wanna try' etc, etc..

Thanks!

Re: Max Tire Size

4X4?
I have 4X2 Jimmy and 29" tires. They rub!! Can't turn the steering all to one side. A good body roll will scrap the back body flap its loose.

Re: Max Tire Size

I've got 31" BFG's AT on my Blazer.

No lift, all I did was take off the fender trim and cut away the fender a bit - only an inch - then put the trim back on.

They have rubbed only 4 times since installed, only on occasions when I've got the wheel cranked fully at a decent speed and I hit something.

I love the look.
The pic in my sig is of when I was running Yokohama Geolander AT's.

They were ass - so I got rid of them.
