Lowering a blazer?
I plan on lowering my 2DR within the next week. I'm using 3in coils and 4in blocks. Can someone explain exactly what I need to do with my rear brake lines? Do I need to trim the front brake dust covers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
I wouldn't go that way, but that's just me. I would go 2" spindles and ZQ8 springs and 4" blocks are frowned on here.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
all you need to do is install you coils and blocks. no brake line extending, no dust shield cutting.
just install your parts, and get an alignment. |

Re: Lowering a blazer?
you just need to flip the brake lines on the calipers 180*. then bleed them afterwards.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
You will need to un bolt the brake line from the caliper and rotate it so it is coming down off of the caliper, when it goes up like stock it will rub on the frame usually. |

Yeah just flip the lines out back, very easy to do and it has to be done.

Is there a sticky or step by step anywhere so I'll know I get it right?

Re: Lowering a blazer?
Search it. Yours is a 98+ right?
Once you get back there and look at the lines you'll know exactly what to do. |

Re: Lowering a blazer?
nope it's both and you'll have to flip them if you have rear disc brakes. The brake line rubs the frame.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
Mine don't rub either sitting still, when I hit a bump they do. Ride it like that for a week then look at the rubber line, it'll have a place wore on the side of it.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
mines at around 4.75" out back but originally it was 4" and after a week the line was smooth. I don't see how yours isn't. I'd do it anyway just incase.

Re: Lowering a blazer?
i coulda gotten away with NOT doing it too but better saft than sorry...there are alot of dips in vegas so stretching and compressing the suspension in the rear just convinced me to do it anyways...
