Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

Springs and blocks for starters.
Replace the the shocks too.
Then, if you wanna go lower, add spindles to the front, and drop leafs to the rear.

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

Also, is 4wd or 2wd?
Springs and blocks are only for 2wd.
4x4 needs torsion keys instead of springs.

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

Its a 4x4...no springs. You have torsion bars.
Here you go:

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

That's everything you'll need I believe. I'd just get the keys, pull a leaf, set backs, 1" blocks, 1/2" blocks, shims. That'll put you at about a 4" drop out back. It will cost a little more though and you'll need drop shocks for the back, I don't know about the front though.

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

Nope, you dont need to take out a leaf unless you wanna be about 1-1.5" lower in the back.
You dont 'NEED' the setback plates and shims, but, if you have the extra cash, not a bad idea.

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

well i already got the setback plates, ima just go ahead and get it all, rather just do it all now then latta on down the road adding it and taking it all apart again, so when its time to do this ill have it all ready and can just open it up put in the new stuff and close it up and be doen for good, hopfully

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

He might need the shims, the shims will drop it 1/4" and the setbacks will drop it 3/8". Pulling a leaf dropped mine 1.75"

Re: lowering 98 jimmy??

If you want to go 3" out back then you'll need a 1/2" block. If you want to go 3.5" then get a 1" block. If you want a 4" drop then get both. That's if you pull a leaf and it gives you 1.75" like mine did.
