Looking for some Info
I bought a 99 2dr blazer the other day. It has a few gremlins. For instance, the PRNDL and odomter go out on there own and when it comes back on when i tap it with the palm of my hand, the battery light and oil light come on. Second one is if I am driving I can lock both doors from drivers side and the indicator that shows the door is locked or not goes up and down but as soon as I park the truck and take the key out, I can lock the passenger door fine but the indicator won't go up or down on drivers side. I found 2 TSB's and was wondering if anyone had access to the full TSB.
http://www.chevroletforum.com/recall...d_3130/TSB.htm http://www.carcomplaints.com/Chevrol...999/tsbs.shtml TSB #151200 aka NHTSA ID #617784 This is referenced on the above site. Also referenced is TSB #060601 aka NHTSA ID #623792. Thanks ahead of time for any info. Desperately need it. Other than that truck drives great, will be getting the wheel bearing replaced on Tuesday. It has 70k on the clock, if I forgot to mention. |

Re: Looking for some Info
Yeh for whatever reason I could be driving down the road and push the lock/unlock button and it responds by moving the indicator up and down. I park the truck and take the key out and i goto lock the door and it will lock the passenger side but not the drivers side. The indicator will not move. Sometimes I can keep the key in and it will lock but most times that truck has to be running for it to occur.

Ok, I thought you might've meant with the key still in, because there's some safety thing in newer Blazers (99 and up, I think) that wont let you lock the door with the engine off and the key in the ignition, so you don't get locked out. That doesn't sound like that's happening, but maybe something to do with your BCM.

Re: Looking for some Info
Is there some way around this safety thing? Or a way to check that? I have no books in the truck and havent been able to get at my dads yet. Ive been eliminating different things as I go.

Re: Looking for some Info
Not that I know of, unless you bought a different BCM that didn't have it, which I don't think is possible. Either way, it can't be that in your case, because when the key is out of the ignition the door should always lock when you push the button to.

Re: Looking for some Info
Found some door lock/unlock procedures in dads manual. Pull high beam lever towards you, key on, key off, etc nothing seemed to respond while doing that though. Leaning towards wire loose/damaged etc. I can keep the door open a little bit and it will lock but if the door is open all the way it wont.
