Lookin' to Buy...
...a 1999 Bravada with 113k, pretty good condition but it's a little rough on the outside (no rust, just some missing paint)... I guess my question is how long are these things good for? What kinda mileage can I expect it to get up to?
Thanks, Ryan |

Re: Lookin' to Buy...
i mean i bet there are many members on here that are well over 200k and happy. I'm at about 150k and this has been the worst year for repairs. Fuel pump, fuel pump wire harness, complete rear end, and just recently distributor assembly but that was mechanic fault. soo just as long as it has been taken care of through its 113k miles you should be happy

Re: Lookin' to Buy...
keep in mind the usual parts fail around 100k (starter, alternator, radiator, water pump, etc.) happens to most vehichles after 100k though. see if you can find out what has already been replaced so you know what will fail eventually. but all in all the engine is good for around 250k, which is pretty darn good.
I love my Jimmy and its got 130k on it right now. replaced the radiator, water pump, alternator, starter, rear axle (my mechanic said its the first he's ever seen go bad on an s-series), power brake booster, and front O2 sensors. and then the usual maintenance of spark plugs, fuel pump, distributor cap and rotor, oil, air filter. runs like a dream still. |

Re: Lookin' to Buy...
Would you recommend an aftermarket warranty? I could get a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty from www.warrantydirect.com for something like $1500. It covers the engine, transmission and axles. What do you all think?
