little oil leak
hey everyone i tried posting this in the 262 section but had no luck maybe someone here can help me out
on my jimmy i have found a little oil leak in the rear corner of the intake. i patched it up and its not leaking. its been 4days now and i have noticed that the starter has some more oil on it again just like it did before when it was leaking not a lot but enough to say there's something there, and were i patched the intake is bone dry. my oil presure unit that comes out of the block is totaly dry aswell as the distributor, the seam were the intake contacks the block, and rocker covers, and my rear crank seal is not leaking. so my question would be is it possible for the lower corners of the heads to leak oil or is it more then likely just exsive resido that is still there from the leak? i have never seen this before so i thought i would ask. thxs any ideas would be appriated ![]() |

Re: little oil leak
Check to see if your exhaust manifold bolts are loose. Are you burning any oil? If you are you could leak oil on the starter from there. It would leak and burn oil if you got worn piston rings, tapered cylinder walls, worn valve stem seals, craked heads, or bad head gaskets.

Re: little oil leak
pistons, rings, and heads all look mint, i just had the engine torn down and it does not burn a drop of oil. i checked it out realy closely and i think my rear intake is still seeping a little oil. can a 4.3 leak oil at the headgaskets? i only new of them blowing them and having coolant leaks and my oil and coolant look just fine.
