Leaking coolant

Ya...01 Jimmy 4.3 I have like a slow leak in my coolant somewhere along the lines, its leaking from the left side almost from the radiator..anyone have any problems with leaking hoses or anything? Did a pressure test..won't even hold 5 psi...and its pissin me off cause I have to keep filling it and the mornings are getting colder here and the heat aint workin.. Any ideas..? and I really don't wanna replace the radiator but that seems where the leak seems to be coming from...Also tried a bottle of radiator plug..that didnt help..

Re: Leaking coolant

Fill it up and do the pressure test again. It should come runnin out at the leak under pressure. Look close at the intake manifold to head joint. They're notorious for leaks.

I'm replacing the radiator on sat (joys of workin at a dealership I get parts cheap) From what I gather they are also infamous for leaking at the side tanks where they clip on the radiator which where mine seems to be leaking..so we shall see ty for the input tho

Re: Leaking coolant

Changing the radiator is very simple. I think it took me an hour to change mine, with a smoke break here and there :-)

Re: Leaking coolant

One small tip...the lines have a small clip that holds them on. They do not unscrew out of the tank. Pull you battery for a little clearance, unbolt the shroud, unclip the lines, unhook the hoses and it is clear to come out. The first one I changed I unscrewed the tranny and cooler lines. The second one I change was a little less than an hour. Got mine at Advanced, in stock, but it was $250.00. Price went up because a year or so ago I think I paid $189.00. But if ya need 'em ya need 'em.
