Question knocking noise behind firewall but in front of dash front left

I have an 01 2dr 2wd blazer that keeps having some type of knocking. It sounds like something loose in the suspension set up but im not too sure. Got any ideas?

It is your hood hinges believe it or not. There are washers that solve this problem ..GM PN# 1238460, and they go on hood hinge pivot bolts.

Ask your dealer to see TSB 01-08-63-001A

Same problem on the '00 Jimmy I just bought. I first thought it was the sway bar end links. Then I replaced the shocks because one had a bad rubber. Still had a hell of a knock. Worked under the dash for the better part of the day trying to find it. Shoved some rubber shims everywhere to try and tighten everything up. Drove down the road and there it was. Drove me nuts. I thought the previous owner maybe dropped a screwdriver in the defroster duct or something. While standing there looking thru the windshield trying to figure out how to remove the defroster grille I was holding on to the edge of the hood and unconsiously moved it up and down while thinking. Knock, knock, knock. "Well I'll be damned". LOL!!! I took the bolt out, cut a piece of heat shrink tubing and slid it over the shoulder of the bolt and shrunk it. Put it back in and no knock. right before I bought the Jimmy I called the previous owner about the knock and he stated that was the reason he traded it in. He was tired of the noise and the money spent on front end repairs that they did to try and eliminate it. LOL!!! Made for a good deal for me in negotiating a price when I bought it though. I got them to knock $1500 off.
