jimmy envoy shock ?

i wen tot the gm dealership and asked about my 2000 jimmy envoy shocks. he said the rear leveling air shocks were discounted and he couldn't get me any. he said it would cost 640 including tax for shocks all around and the rear shocks wouldn't be the stock one....just regular shocks. so he wasn't of much help to me so im turning to u guys. hummm.....can i still get the rear shocks? they are made by delphi and the front shocks are bilsteins. a part number for both would be cool. thank you

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

the jimmy envoy load leveling shocks are some big mofos. the airline seems to be a small line held onto with a clip. i just went underneath this morning 9am. K Dawg one. alright i can't find the shocks anywhere. im going to go with regualr shocks now. what am i supposed to do with these lines and the air pump. i don't want the air pump running all the time because it thinks the shocks need more air. just lemme know what u did.

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

I was lucky and found a set on ebay, and got those. Before I did that, I called my local pep boys and they had the monroe air shocks and a "refit" kit i needed to install the new monroes to the envoy air ride. It was about 80 bucks for everything.

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

take pics of the airline and stuff and measure it.
monroes look like this

and compared to a 'usual sized' belltech nitro

the monroes use regular 1/8" tubing, so if you can find some fittings for the stock airline, you can adapt them in,

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

if you want to put regular shocks in and don't want the compressor pumping, just pull the fuse for the air ride in the fuse box....

I have to get underneath mine, my compressor stopped pumping a while ago... wasn't gonna worry about it until i got the boat done...

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

just for a fast point... I picked up a replacement air compressor when mine went bad out of a 89 Cadillac...they are all the same compressor, just the mount location is different. The caddy compressor is under the hood, while the envoy is out back behind the pass side tire.

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

i ordered bilstein from shockwarehouse.com 240 shipped for all of them

i got the heavy duties

ill update when i get'em on.
im going to unplug the fuse underneath the hood for the air leveling system. i have a ? though. i want to use the air compressor to inflate things(my tires, a basketball etc.). ill put the fuse back in and things should work. how should i plug up the lines that go to the soon non exsisting air leveling system. they are thin lines like the air lines pictured in greencactus3's post.

any help would be cool

Re: jimmy envoy shock ?

Go to a place that sells hydraulic an pneumatic fittings/hoses and etc... bring a piece of the hose for reference, they should have a plastic plug that'll fit your application...
