Ignition switch gone.....again?

Had my ignition switch replaced about 2 years ago because of problems starting. Turn the key sometimes A) Nothing happens, B) engine cranks, but no dash lights come on,car won't start.
Just the other day my wife gets stuck, car just quits on the road. Turn the key, either no crank or does crank but don't hear the fuel pump come on.
Have any of you guys replaced multiple ignition switches on yours? Anything else to look for? Anyone know of a good place for some directions how to replace myself? If so, is there a reliable replacement ignition switch brand(I have the GP Sorenson right now)?
I've got a 97 Blazer 4.3 Auto in case that matters.
