Re: i need to cancel rev limiter

if it's stopping at 98mph, isn't removing the rev limiter the wrong thing to do to fix that? or do you have some steep ass gears?

Re: i need to cancel rev limiter

A quick search would bring up the info you are looking for. If you are bangin' on the speed limiter before the end of the 1/4, it can get annoying.
A programmer like the one pictured above, or sending it to someone to tune the PCM is going to be your best bet.

Right and legal way? I doubt you'll get past 98 on the 1/4, and I'm sure there's no roads with the speed limit over 98mph around you.

what a bunch of gurlz!

isn't there something to do with the speed sensor that you disconnect so you don't 'shut-down' @98mph.....doesn't it kill the instrument cluster also?

Re: i need to cancel rev limiter

I have a switch wired in on the VSS wire. Breaking the circuit will register you at Zero MPH and also register Zero miles on your odometer. I've run two different switches and at higher speeds the speedo needle will creep back up and start registering MPH again. I dunno why it does that, but it does work for a minute or so.

Re: i need to cancel rev limiter

buy a first-gen but ya the hypertech programmer should remove the limiter and help you on some power. and i dobt you get 190 to the wheels with just those bolt ons, theres alot of drivetrain loss

98 S-series vehicles were not rated at 210hp.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_S-10

Most vehicles, with those mods, average about 150hp to 165hp at the wheels. Altho you never stated if you ran an auto or not.

If you search, you could eliminate a lot of time. You need to look for a programmer. Jet has one Hypertech has one, or find some one with Tunercat, HPTuner, or send it in to PCM4less or any other alternative place to reflash your PCM.

Sounds like a personal preference, but some of us like to play at the track. I do well over 98.
