I love my 4x4 2000 Blazer 56K Beware

So, on Friday I left work early and went out to the Anza-Borrego desert and went camping with some friends. It was 96 Degrees when we got out there, stinking hot and misrable, so we decided to leave Saturday.

During the night it was beautiful, about 70 degrees with a nice breeze and a very full and bright moon. The moon was sooo bright I had trouble sleeping.

Saturday Morning we drove up to a place called the Squeeze on the Pinion Mountain Road just to check it out, basically the 4x4 trail is droping down a canyon and gets so narrow only a jeep or similar width truck with lots of clearance can make it down. Note this picture:

We then rode our mountain bikes down the trail back to the main road, roughly 6-7 miles of sandy trails with tons of rocks and berms, not as fun as downhilling in Big Bear or Mammoth, but cool for the desert.

Here are some other pictures of my friends 1985 Jimmy in different parts of this trail:

Now for the good Stuff.

Saturday at midday we left to head home, but since I did not get to bring my blazer up to the squeeze that morning I missed out on really getting to use my 4wheel drive. So Micah(my friend with the Jimmy) tells me about another trail that is kinda on the way home. He had driven it about 2 years ago and said it was fun but not soo hard my truck could not make it.

So we head up there. Micah forgot about the fact that shortly after he drove that trail we had a heavy winter with lots of rain, even for the desert. So, when we got there the trail was pretty rough. We got to the first section and checked it out on foot. It looked too rough for my stock 2000 Chevy Blazer with street tires, but I was up for an adventure so I said: "lets do it!".

Here are 4 videos, 2 of me in my blazer in the first of many tough sections, and 2 of Micah in his Jimmy in the same section.

Because this video was taken on my digital camera it is not too acurate at to just how steep this climb is or how big the rocks are, just take note of how much my truck is moving around as I climb it. Also the file sizes ranges from 30 - 80MB, so don't expect quick downloads.

And, for those who do not want to dowload videos here are two sequence shots of me taking my Blazer up the Section...
