how to get remote entry

In my 01 blazer, it has the AU3 code, 'LOCK CONTROL, SIDE DR, ELEC' and i know the remote entry code is AU0...but is there any way i can add remote entry to this thing without having to buy an aftermarket alarm or anything like that?

thanx

Re: how to get remote entry

junk yard had a 96 w/ keyless entry and the keys still in the ignition the the remote! bought the remote for $1. programmed it in ten seconds (w/ the help of s10 forum of course) and added the coolest feature for a buck! original owners lost all fobs. yeah e-bay is probably gonna be ur best bet.

Re: how to get remote entry

No I think he's saying that his Blazer didnt come equipped with RKE (AU3). If the code wa AU0 then that would mean the truck came equipped with it.
Mine was the same, so I bought the receiver and it's not going into program mode.
I have heard that the dealer needs to program the ECU to know that there is now RKE present. Just plugging in the module isnt enough. Anyone agree with that?
