How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
I am trying to buy a 2-dr '00 Blazer. Thing is, how do I know if it is 2 or 4wd? I know that I should know from the Vehicle description, or pictures, but none of them show it being 4wd (it dosent have a drive type listed) and the Seller isnt going to be able to call me back until monday due to work. I just want to know if this is 2 or 4wd before then, so I can continue looking for one.

Re: How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
http://ford-wheels.com/www.ackerwheels.com_/5063.jpg 2wd Wheel 4X4s have their front wheels sticking out more than the rear, and usually have bigger fender gaps http://ford-wheels.com/www.ackerwheels.com_/5031.jpg 4WD wheel And you'll never get them wrong by looking at the wheels cuz 4X4s have differnet offsets, thus a 2WD can't use 4WD rims without spacers, and vice versa withou having them stick out alot. |

Re: How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
2wd isnt that bad. you just need to get used to it after driving a FF. just the transition is hard. but once ur used to it... like now its easier for me to drive my 2wd s10(less weight in the back than a blazer) in snow seep or light. or ice than my sister's neon... which was my first car.
btw im in MI too |

Re: How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
Well, I ended up buying it. It is essentially brand new (21,585 miles). Only thing is, there is a rattle coming from around the spare tire (inside mount). Would tightening the wing-nut on the spare help?

Re: How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
i live in buffalo with a 2wd 2dr and i havne't had any problems.. the biggest tip is to not stomp on the gas but to let the truck take you by getting off of the brake.

Re: How do I know if it is 2 or 4wd?
The panel that is right behind the spare tire (inside mount) seemed to be moving up and down pretty badly, making a rattle. I took the panel off (it is the jack cover) and put a piece of foam, most often used on pipes, on the spare tire mount. It keeps the panel from moving down, therefore stopping the rattle noise. EDIT: I will take a few pics of the fix when I can get some spare time, as it aint that big of a deal. Last edited by goblue9976 : 01-24-2006 at 05:22 PM. Reason: small cha |
