hood release cable//rear hatch window

well since i got my blazer 3 months ago the hood release cable was broken, so i had to use needle nose pliers to open it, after that i cut it and had it hiding under the bumper on the driver side.. well i'm tired of opening it that way. i have an xtreme grill shell, bowtie emblem, clear corners and ss gen 5 "ss" style bumper coming.. so i want to fix this issue when i install of this.

should i get this autozone "universal" one. $23
or should i go to the dealer?? how much you think the stealership would charge?

last thing: my rear hatch window is not aligned properly on the driver side. it's shifted up on that side. i took out the 2 bolts but the "pin" or w.e. in the middle there won't let me move it around really.. how could i go about aligning it correctly?

thanks for any help!

Maybe im not understanding correctly, but, did you adjust the hatch glass at the hinges at the top?

well see i tried to adjust it there. but there is that pin or w.e. that goes through the middle of the hinge. so you can't really adjust it. unless i'm just stupid. lol

Re: hood release cable//rear hatch window

from what i remember on mine, the bolts that hold the entire hinge on, the hole for them is oval shap so you can loosen them, then adjust the hing up or down, and then re-tighten...

Re: hood release cable//rear hatch window

i'd go with the dealer part. I had to do this last spring and dealer part was $1 less than the autozone universal and it is an exact replacement

Oh, and to add to my post further, i meant to say that the adjustment part for the hinge is on the body not on the glass part..
