Help identifing a Blazer X

I got this crazy idea that I want to get a Blazer X. I found one locally and plan to go to the dealer tonight or this weekend. My only issue is that it has a roof rack. This makes me think (I haven't seen it yet) that it's a "look-a-like". Is there anyway of telling it's an extreme besides the following?

- lowered 1.5"
- body kit
- wheels

Specs:
Price: $14K (Too high but should be able to talk them down)
22K miles
5spd w/ OD
Color: Victory Red (To match my 02 S10 )
VIN: 1GNCS18X73K150038
Features: Maryland State Inspected,, Air Conditioning, **Low Mileage**, CD Changer, Luggage Rack, Tow Package, Tilt Wheel, Tinted Glass, Remote Keyless Entry, Power Windows, Power Locks, Alloy Wheels, Alarm, and More!

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

Ive never see a true Xtreme with a lugage rack. I also noticed the it looks as if the plastic piece that goes on the back window is red which is usually black on all blazers so the previous owner must of done it.

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

X blaze didn't come with a rack from the factory. However, it is possible one was added to that one at some point.

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

Isnt there a code in the glove box to designate it as a true ZQ8? I'm not all that familiar with ZQ8's other than checking that code.

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

I notice that the 8th vin digit is an X 4.3...Didn't X-Blazers come w/ the W L35 4.3? Plus I doubt that someone would buy the Xtreme package stock w/o roof racks and then add part of what the package was intended to delete, but I've seen Xtreme body kits on 4x4 S-10's, so I guess anything is possible. Anyways, shouldn't there be an RPO # that specifically designates it's an X-blazer? I know that the SS's had the RPO G4U, and that's how you could tell you had a true factory SS.....

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

I'm gonna say it's not an xtreme.

And didn't all blazers have the rear sway bar? I've owned two 4wd and they both had it.

Re: Help identifing a Blazer X

If you take the VIN to the dealer they can look up what options the car was built with.

The VIN you posted did start life as a red xtreme blazer, with no roof rack, and with an Auto trans.

Go figure that one out.
