I'm having problems getting the heater core out fo my 1999 Blazer with auto Climate control. I've read all the threads I could find and they were helpful. I have the dash out and sitting on the floor. Under the hood I've taken the bolt hidden under the blower resister and the nut off the stud by the heater core pipe. I found the bolt on the pass side, bottom corner of the heating/ventilation module and I still can't get the heating/ventilation module to come loose from the firewall. What am I missing .

Re: Heater core problem what am I missing
there is a retainer bar across the top of the heater core using 4 or 5 7mm screws... Remove that and it should fall right out. (Make sure you pull the lines in the engine compartment!)

Re: Heater core problem what am I missing
I have a 98 blazer s-10 and I removed my heatercore recently and had the same problem. I thought something was still holding it in place also but there wasn't. I finally pryed it loose to break the seal it had from being in place since it was built. it tilted enough to give me access to the cover over the top of the heater core. It went back together so fast after learning how it came apart. very simple I could do the whole operation again in no time now that I did it. Mine is a 98 but I don't think any thing changed on the 99.
