Heat from vents when heater turned off!?

Hello all! I just just traded my 96 Ram for a 99 Blazer a few weeks ago and figured I should find a forum as well! This here seems to get the most traffic of the ones I have been lerking on so this is where I will renew my Chevy addiction!

Unfortunatly I have to start off with a possible need for repair.

Even though the temp controls are turned off and to the cooldest setting there is still very warm air comming out of the floor vents. Every combination of settings seem to work as intended, other than the Off setting. :/

Any ideas?

Sure it's coming from the vents and not from the firewall? Just a guess

welcome to the s10's / blazers. there was a how to to fix it a while back but might of been erased with the server crashed. they all do it. when its how i put the control to the defrost and open the windows so my feet aren't in a sauna. i think the how to was to plug something behind the glove box. ill try searching to help ya out.

downfall: ... when its cold it will take the truck a few min to get warm air out of the vents.

they both say the same thing just different ideas on how to plug it, Good Luck

Re: Heat from vents when heater turned off!?

Interesting, thanks!! I will try that after work today. Seems easy enough to be able to do each spring and replace it in the fall.
