guages 95 jimmy/blazer

so i own a 95 GMC Jimmy 4x4. I bought the truck a little over a year ago and I had gotten a really good deal on those cool replacement guages that you can change between like 15 or so different shades of blue and green and are white faced in the day. I also like these ones because they are simple and clean plus once they are installed at night the blue color will match my blaupunkt headunit nicely... so I was all ready to install it and i was looking at where the screws come off there to take that big dash peice off and all, well I now realize that it is a pain in the butt and I am wondering if anyone here has done this install and how to get that big dash peice off and over the steering column without breaking anything, one thing i mconcered with is that little knob for the 4-way flashers breaking in this process, and also once i get the dash off what to do to get the plastic off the guage case so i can put in my awesome white faced ones. thanx- Josh

Re: guages 95 jimmy/blazer

I have had my dash piece off quite a few times for various reasons... I just dropped the wheel down all the way, pulled the top part forward first(where the 2 screws were)then when its at an angle just pull the whole thing straight out... Its deffinately a tight squeeze but I've never even come close to breaking the flasher knob off. Hope this helped...
