Got myself a 2000 Blazer LS 4x2

Just got a 2000 Blazer 4dr LS auto 4x2. No power options.

$3800 bucks.

Gonna be used for a fishin' truck and runs to the beach etc.

They said it was sitting on the lot a while because they had tons of blazers and jimmy's with power win/locks, cruise etc. 109,000 miles. It's got a lot of stains all on the interior. Must of been kids because I found school supplies in the seatback holders and fries and ketchup under the back seat. Gonna try steam cleaning all the stains and odor of cig smoke.

I don't really need that and my other car is a 92 Vette loaded up with all the goodies.

I kinda liked the simplicity and just one less thing to go wrong. It has the fold down tailgate which I love compared to the full lift gates.

Anyway nice forum and lots of good info here. I have a mechanical background might even be able to contribute. Lot of Gm wrenching experiance from my old 78 Camaro and my Vette.

The vette just had the entire cooling system replaced so I am warmed up already. This Blazer has deathcool sludge and tapping lifters when cold.

Salesman tried to hide the deathcool tap by having it running when I came to pickup the vehicle. lol.. but I knew it had typical 100

So I am gonna rip out the cooling, bypass or replace the heater core and replace the LIM gasket, WP, radiator and hoses and change it to Peak 50 /50 green.

And here I thought that all gen II 4 dr Blazers came with the full liftgate. Interesting.

Actually around here I see more with the drop gate. I didn't even know they had a lift gate on them until I bought mine.

Aye when I break in the tailgate for Spring Break at Port Aransas next year.
(driving not involved after the drinkin' starts).
