got a used computer-does it need programming?

Found a used computer with same 8 digit code: 16193495

1995 GMC Jimmy, auto trans

Do I need to take it to the dealer for programming before installing?

And if so-what do they normally charge and what information do I need to give them?

Yes... It needs to be flashed for your vin due to various options that may need to be turned on/off, on the bright side they will flash it with the latest software. Probably run you about $50.00
