Fuel Pump Question

Ok i know this may be a dumb question but here goes, I just got done changing my fuel pump in my 96 blazer. Are supposed to be heard running at all times? I don't remember hearing my old pump running all the time.

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Did you replace your fuel filter at the same time?

Could be a few factors...A. you don't have the O-ring or the clip in all the way or seated correctly? Newer stronger pump maybe? Did you use a cheap 200.00 pump or the Delphi one? Do you have the right fuel pump? There is a difference in the 2 dr and 4 door pumps and when you got the new pump did you get an updated pig tail end?

Well thats a fuel pumps job to run constantly..reason i asked about the connector end is maybe by chance it got wired up wrong..since you have to splice a new one one

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Had two different ones on mine, could always hear them. Not super loud, but if you're listening for it, you can hear it.

Re: Fuel Pump Question

My fuel pump became noticeably loud only after I changed the fuel filter. Before, I would have to be outside, near the rear of the truck to hear it. Now I can hear it inside...

Maybe there's a link?

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Some pumps are just louder.. also depending on how full or empty your tank is it can echo a little inside the tank..
