Question Fuel Gauge Problem

Like many of you already know, the GMC's have serious issues with the fuel gauges...

my envoy has developed this syndrome. The gas gauge reads wrong and the needle is jumping. Is there a fix for this? some cleanser or something else?
or am I stuck buying a new sending unit?

any help is appreciated
