Envoy won't start
2000 envoy 4.3L won't start...
it's been raining here the past couple of days, and i haven't used it since Dec 31... it's a typical problem when it rains for a longer period... I've changed the cap and rotor, and will be changing the plugs and wires soon... just don't really have the time to get around to do it... Can it be the wires/plugs, or is there something else that's causing this issue?? motor will crank and crank, and the odd time it'll back fire, but it won't fire up??? any ideas? |

Re: Envoy won't start
Finish the ignition tune-up and if it's still no-go look for spark and fuel. Use di-electric grease on each end of the wires, moisture may be a problem. Listen for fuel pump priming when you key to "on". If you take a plug out to check spark, also check if it's wet with fuel.

Re: Envoy won't start
I could write a book on my 96 jimmy. If you experienced any hesitation from a stoplight in the past it could be the fuel filter. Replaced mine when it eventually wouldn't start and bingo. Then the other day it died going down the road. No "check engine" light came on. Turned over but wouldn't fire. Shop went through long check list anc came up with a bad ECM 20 amp fuse. Fuse looked good but wouldn't pass current. Wierd.
