Envoy Headlights
A friend has a 1999 Envoy with a pair of those crappy looking "Euro" headlights, one is broken and I am wondering if I can use Jimmy headlights in place of the Envoy headlights (easier to find)

Re: Envoy Headlights
no pics but, their the typical cheap Chinese made "euro" lights that most install. One is broken....
I just want to know if Sonoma or Jimmy headlight assy's will fit in place of an Envoy headlight assy on a '99 Last edited by RaginInferno : 12-23-2008 at 01:08 PM. |

Re: Envoy Headlights
Yes, although you may need to modify the wiring harness with new pigtails to work with 9006 & 9005 bulbs.
I'd be interested in the old ones if he wants to sell them. |

Like I said, one of the "euro" lights is broken...I'll give them away once we put a good set on her Envoy.

Re: Envoy Headlights
it seems he is talking about the envoy headlights.
do they look like the ones drprymer posted. and im pretty sure you can get any other headlight to fit but you may have to do some work to get the bulbs and everything right. |

Re: Envoy Headlights
If these are the factory Envoy headlights then I (ME) think that they look like euro crap...if you like'em good for you. I think they are ugly and look stupid... To those of you who answered my question in an adult manner, Thank You. To the rest of you.... I will no longer take part in any further discussion about these headlights or answer PM's about these headlights. It's obvious that some of you are waaaay too sensitive when it comes to this subject. Go ahead and flame and/or insult away, I could care less....and won't be here to read it. |

Re: Envoy Headlights
dont get so upset you could sell thouse lights for $400+-. To my Knowledge there is No aftermarket Headlights mad for the 1998 and up envoys, They are factory GMC and you can go to the dealer for replacement parts. and shame on you all for not telling him why you want the headlights and how much there worth thats really dishonest! and not what I expect from this forum. People are looking for these lights, and pay top $. I have a 2000 jimmy and yes the regular lights interchange with no mods. the envoys have the same plugs as the jimmys. you just need to unplug the power wire from the ballast, (aluminum box under the headlight) and plug it into the lowbeam bulb of the jimmy head light. If you wanted to keep them I have made a conversion bracket out of aluminum strap (1/8"X2") so you can use a standard D2S or D1S bulb in the envoy head light with no mods to the envoy light, you just screw it in place. This brings the cost of bulb replacment down from $200 to about $50. if you are interested let me know and ill send you details. or if you wanted to trade I have a set of factory jimmy lights (with fogs) that Id swap to you for the envoy lights, and id send you pics detailing the change.
