Envoy front track width?

Is it possible to resize the front track of a 1998 Envoy? I love the rims the truck I just bought came with but they stick out in the front. The previous owner bought rims that fit right in the rear but not enough backspacing for the front. My dilema now is do I buy new rims that will fit the front right and 1" spacers for the rear so they fit. Or do I somehow change the front track of the truck. My searches on-line have indicated that the Envoy has a 1450mm front track while the same year Jimmy/Blazer has a 1397mm front track. I'm not sure if this may be because the spec may be referring to a non 4wd Jimmy. Does the Envoy use different control arms and axles then the Jimmy/Blazer? If so could I run the Jimmy/Blazer front set-up to reduce my track by 1"?

TIA.
