Re: encoder motor

No it a diff transfer case all together. You dont want it! If your going to swap it get an older manual shift 231.

Re: encoder motor

well ok. i think i will just see what i can do with the encoder i do have. and does any one knw if there is a way to get a manual 4wd with a bad electrical problem in stead or vacuum problem? thanks

P.S. does any one know if the transfer cases in the blazer give out as much as other things? like that is usual the last thing to go out right?

thanks

Re: encoder motor

the LT trims had the 4 button. it just means it has auto 4wd , 2wd, 4hi, and 4lo. but it also has the neutral position also.

Re: encoder motor

Lots of non LT trucks also have the 4 button.

Check out car-part.com and look up the encoder motor for your vehicle. I found one for an 01 I was working on for a grand total of $50. I think I was quoted something like $400 from the dealer and they are $200 on eBay.

Re: encoder motor

is it not switching over? my envoy would flash 4HI and then after a while it would go back to 2WD

ended up being a vacum leak... i popped the hood, and listened and found the problem...

fixed that and it worked fine after...

might want to check that out first...

Re: encoder motor

yea. i really dont think there is a vacuum leak, but i dont really know. but i do just for the heck of it replace all my rubber tubes that are dry rotten. is there a vacuum line right up any where. because most of my lines are dry rotten. and there are a few lines i dont know what they go to and i dont know it they go to important stuff or just a vent

thanks

Re: encoder motor

as long as it is out of a np233c tehn it should...but getting used parts like this is not a good idea...they break ... and if they are old then that is less life they have left..

pay the money and get a new one
