Dream Blazers
So I watched RIDES on tv last night and GM have gave 4 different shops new HHR's to customize as they saw fit. Really got me to drooling thinking of doing similar things to my own Blazers. If I just had a ton of money and plenty of time: I could build a blazer with a custom formula 1 styled front suspension and some sort of 4 link rear dropped to lower the cg and throw in a turbo v8 & 5 or 6 speed trans. Now that would be fun or I could go with a desert racer theme and build a totally custom front & rear suspension. The possibilities are endless but the money is not...so I'll just have to dream. What do you guys think...what would you build if money was no object? Remember we're talking Blazers here...

Re: Dream Blazers
I'd have a jet engine put in the rear hatch.

Re: Dream Blazers
On my '93... Off the frame restoration with a Turbo LS1, with some radical cam, real quiet muffler but with dual cutouts, 4x4/awd, 4.10 gears, lowered, roll pan, biggest front & rear sway bars available, LSD rear, some nice wheels & black paint with a mirror finish. Or, something like that

Re: Dream Blazers
Ah come on...sure I'd probably have some other cool rides if money were no object but part of the fun of modifying/customizing a ride is overcoming some of the difficulties and coming up with something truly different that most people would think wasn't possible. Imagine a Blazer that handled like a road course race car or Nextel cup car or a Blazer that could take on the desert races at 140mph and still feel at home on the street too. Now that's dreamin...that's what makes custom rides fun.

If money weren't an issue, I'd rather have a fullsize.

Re: Dream Blazers
If momey were no object that wouldnt be the only car I have. Could be there would be at least a c6 Z06, and a Mercedes Mclaren SLR sitting next to it. |

Re: Dream Blazers
but i don't customize my vehicles to be "cool" or "different", i do it to appeal to myself and what i want my vehicles to be. i can build as many vehicles as i want that other people think aren't possible but it still means jack crap to the only person for which it really matters if i am not as impressed as everyone else is. great....it can go offroading at 140mph or it handles like a cup car...all that means is i wasted a ton of money doing useless modifications just to show off because offroading and circle track racing are not a part of my daily life. and i understand that people build show trucks just to get a pat on the back and a big trophy, and that's all well and good for some people, but i am in it for the hobby and the personal gratification not the mantel decor or a magazine cover.

Re: Dream Blazers
I hear you bristol16. I'm not talking about trophies or magazine covers. That's not my thing. I'm talking about each persons dream S10/Blazer project. And what makes my hair stand on end is HP/speed and handling. I mean custom paint is nice but I can't feel that in the seat of my pants while driving. I just asked what everyones ideas of a dream truck would be. We're all different and have different tastes that's what's cool about hot rodding. So do you have a dream truck?
