does everyone know about the dome override?????
my friend at work showed me. you hit it three times and the headlights become manual (no drl). Didn't know if anyone else knew, he stubble upon it the other day

my 01 has it... i stumbled across the trick while doing about 60 during a pitch black night.... luckly i got them back on quick enough before the curve at the end of the road lol

I've got a '98 SLT with the auto lights and the dome trick doesn't work on mine. I think it's only for DRL's and not for the auto lights.

minw on my oo jimmy 4dr 4x4 sle works but my buddys 99 jimmy 2dr 4x4 it didnt work... i have know about it for some time.... i was screwin with it one night parked and didnt know how to get them back on... i later found out that it is only for that run cycle... i like the auto lites so i jsut keep them on... save me from buying a new battery every couple times the wife decides to leave the lights on alll night..lol

If the truck came with Daytime Running lights then it should have it...It should be 3 quick clicks and then off...

I think its a 2000 and up feature, for the s series at least. Neither my girlfriends 99 jimmy or my friends 99 blazer do it, or my 98 s10. My dads 99 silverado has the feature though. I wish more people knew about it at boat launches, there is so many newer chevys that can so easily disable the headlights, just people don't know the trick, it would be nice to launch in the dark and not be blinded by the next guy all the time.
The trick will disable both the DRL and AHL, pretty much makes the lights old school (have to turn a knob) for that trip. |

ya my 98 doesn't have it I think BillsDuster is right. But you can always run the ebrake on click and just use the switch.

only thing it does in 98-99 is turn off the dome light when the door is open |
