defrost only?
well my 96 jimmy started doing this awhile back, but now that it has gotten hot outside, its really starting to bother me.
my a/c and heat only blow out of the defrost vents on the top of the dash, when i bought it, it worked fine, but a week or two after i bought it, this started, it has no problem switching from cold to hot, but it just wont switch to the dash vents instead of defrost. at first i thought it was the vacuum pod attached to the underside of the hood, the vacuum line was dry and brittle, replaced that and it didnt do anything. any other ideas?...suggestions?... i also found the Hot Feet fix, but i guess thats 98+ that has that problem? |

Re: defrost only?
Hmm thats awkward, on my truck it was the vacuum pod that gave me this problem, is the vacuum pod broken or cracked? how about the rest of the vacuum line that connects to it?

Re: defrost only?
well i fixed it, was looking under the hood, saw a vacuum line with a "T" check valve in it, sitting on the distributor cap, had a vacuum line looped around to itself, like bypassing something, then i got to thinking, maybe the vacuum pod needs vacuum, DUH...so i hooked the line up from the pod to one side of the check valve, and the T part to the line that goes inside, voila, works great
now i need to recharge the A/C... |
