Dash removal under steering wheel?

I am trying to remove the underside of my dash on the driver's side of my 2002 Blazer. My question is how do I take the tilt lever to remove that part of the underside of the steering column. Also I do I remove to the lower portion of the dash with the brake release lever still in the dash part. Thanks

Brandon

Is really hard to pull the tilt lever towards the door? I thought that's what I should do but it seems really hard to pull. Just didn't want to break it

Re: Dash removal under steering wheel?

I've got '95 and '97 blazers so I'm not positive on yours but on mine I had to remove the ebrake cable. It's pretty easy just look under the dash near firewall and pull the lever that the ebrake cable is attached to toward you then slip the cable out of the lever. No big deal. As far as the steering column goes remove 4 nuts holding it in place and the whole thing will drop down. As I said I'm not sure about yours but I'm sure they're similar. I have tilt wheel on both of mine.
